Mindfulness, music, stories, and sound design come together to remix your inner dialog, bring down the stress levels, and dial in your best sleep.
Millions of people struggle with falling and staying asleep, and there’s a proven correlation between anxiety and sleep disorders. They feed on each other cyclically. I could try to persuade you with all the research and facts, but sleepfoundation.org has done a handy job of that here. Bottom line: bedtime is very often the first time in our busy day when we stop doing long enough to start thinking and feeling.
For the stressed or anxious mind, it’s prime time for sleep-wrecking rumination. As things quiet down outside, the noise inside ramps up. Cue the tossing and turning and staring at the ceiling and replaying that meeting with The Bobs and the doom-scrolling…
I’ve thought long and hard about this, and after seven years of close collaboration with sleep doctors, therapists, researchers, and practitioners, I’ve concluded that what the world really needs is…another podcast.

An Original Recipe
SleepFader is purpose-built for people who struggle with racing mind when they try to sleep. For many, jumping right into a meditation, or trying to get into a very sleepy-sounding, boring story…its just too much of a leap after a long, busy day.
SleepFader is an answer to that. The graphic below illustrates how my three-act format uses different combos of audio content to promote a natural relaxation response – to “ramp down” your racing mind and set the stage for sleep.
Sleep is Serious Business
I’ve been leading development of therapeutic audio since 2016.
It’s been a deeply rewarding field, putting me in close partnership with music therapists, sleep doctors and scientists, clinical researchers, psychologists, mindfulness practitioners…all leaders in their respective fields who have contributed generously to my evidence-based approach to supporting better sleep through audio interventions.
On-Purpose Listening
I’m using everything I’ve gleaned from best practices in mindfulness, music therapy, and sound design to create an audio experience that promotes a natural relaxation response.
It turns out podcasts are a pretty great vehicle for what I call On-Purpose Listening; a notion borrowed from a core tenet of mindfulness, expressed here by the maestro of mainstream mindfulness himself, Jon Kabat Zinn:
SleepFader invites you to listen on-purpose, with relaxation and rest as the intended outcome. It’s not a new idea at all. I’m just doing it differently.
Take it For a Spin
You could probably use a nap, amiright?
